Welcome
to Disabled Holiday Guide - Providing travel information
for people with disabilities and accessibility issues.
We all
love going on holiday, relaxing with friends and family,
soaking up the sun and playing on the beach, but if you
live with a disability, or suffer from issues such as
reduced mobility or shortness of breath, going on
holiday can be a stressful and often frustrating
experience.
Does
your hotel have wheelchair access? How about a
lift to get up and down stairs? And what about
disabled parking? These are just a few of the
issues disabled travellers need to consider. The
problem is, despite improvements in recent years, very
few places offer full disabled access. Just
because it says "wheelchair friendly" in the brochure,
doesn't necessarily mean a hotel is fully accessible to
a disabled traveller. What happens if your room is
on the 5th floor, and how about getting in and out of
the bathroom?
Of
course, you can always ring the hotel to find out what
facilities are in place, but wouldn't it be great if you
could search a range of hotels, and see instantly which
facilities they offer, all in one go. That's where
Disabled Holiday Guide comes in.
